Speedy Winter Porridge

1905 speedy winter porridge

Chilly winter mornings call for a warm, hearty bowl of porridge. Don't forget the seasonal toppings!

Ingredients

  • 240g rolled oats
  • 3 cups skim milk
  • 4 pears
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¾ cup light Greek-style yoghurt
  • 30g pepita

Method

  1. Combine oats, milk and cinnamon in a large microwave-safe bowl. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring at 1 minute intervals.
  2. Dice 2 of the pears, add to oat mixture and cook for 2 minutes, stirring at 1 minute intervals, or until oats are smooth and creamy and pear is soft.
  3. Slice remaining 2 pears, divide porridge among bowls and top with sliced pears, pepitas and yoghurt. Serve immediately.
