Healthier Twist Bolognese With Zoodles
After a spaghetti bolognese recipe with a healthy twist? Try this version which uses zoodles, lean beef and sunflower seeds to tick all the boxes.
Ingredients
- 1 tbs extra virgin olive oil 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

- 1/4 cup basil leaves, finely chopped (plus extra leaves to serve) 1 quarters cup basil leaves, finely chopped (plus extra leaves to serve)
- 500g Macro tomato, garlic & basil chunky pasta sauce 500 grams Macro tomato, garlic & basil chunky pasta sauce
- 3 zucchini, spiralised 3 zucchini, spiralised

Method
- Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add garlic and onion, then cook, stirring, for 5 minutes or until onion has softened. Add mince, seeds and basil, then cook, breaking up lumps with a wooden spoon, for 5 minutes or until mince has browned. Add sauce and ½ cup water, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes or until sauce has thickened. Season with pepper.
- Meanwhile, bring a large saucepan of water to the boil over medium-high heat. Add zucchini and cook for 1 minute or until just tender. Drain well.
- Serve bolognese topped with zucchini and extra basil.
