Simple chewy chocolate biscuit recipe

Chewy and soft these chocolate chip cookies are a sweet tooth's dream!


  • 150g butter
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  • ½ cup icing sugar
  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

  1. Preheat the oven to 180oC. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  2. Melt the butter and golden syrup in a saucepan on low heat.
  3. Remove from the heat. Cool.
  4. Sift in the icing sugar, flour and baking powder. Mix a little then stir in the chocolate chips.
  5. Take tablespoons of the dough and roll into balls. Place in rows on the baking tray. Flatten with a fork.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the biscuits are just starting to brown on the edges.

Handy Tips

Garnish with sea salt flakes to accentuate the chocolaty flavour!
