Warmer weather calls for white wine...

Cheers to Chardonnay!

Chardonnay is a complex, full-bodied wine with green-skinned grapes known for being adaptable to many environments with the ability to age gracefully. Enjoy Chardonnay all year round due to its remarkable versatility, which allows styles to range between unoaked, floral and fruity to elegant and sophisticated with oak. Fancy a fruit-driven Chardonnay with zesty nectarine and grapefruit? Look no further than Marlborough. After something heavier? Hawke's Bay's abundant sunshine and cooling coastal breezes produce a more refined, full-flavoured style with melon, peach and zesty grapefruit notes. Or perhaps Gisborne has got what you're looking for with their well-rounded, tropical citrus style. Concentrated, elegant with ripe zest, this region is famous for producing exceptional Chardonnay.

  • Young or unoaked is fantastic with seafood. Aged Chardonnay's tend to be richer and pair well with stronger toast and nut flavours. The creaminess of a mature Chardonnay is exceptional alongside chicken, veal and rabbit with creamy, garlic or lemon infused sauces. For dessert, serve with pear & apple crumble.
  • For optimal drinking, serve Chardonnay at 10-12 degrees Celsius.

Raise a glass to Riesling!

Aromatic, vibrant and zesty. New Zealand Riesling is the perfect balance of refreshing and comforting. Regional styles range from fragrant and sweet to crisp and dry. Try Nelson's citrus, fruit-rich, crisp styles. Or maybe Marlborough's more linear, intense aromatic style tickles your fancy. North Canterbury also has a lot to offer with the undulating terrain producing crisp, green apple notes with a clean finish. Prefer something a little lighter? The Central Otago region offers stony soils to create notably sweeter Riesling, delicate in structure. If you want to be spoilt for choice, Wairarapa's wide range of styles is sure to have a Riesling that suits. Vibrant with nectarine and zesty spice, this region offers intense flavour and high acidity.

  • The intense fruit and zesty notes paired with the fresh acidity makes Riesling the perfect accompaniment to Asian cuisine.
  • For optimal drinking, serve Riesling at 7 degrees Celsius.
