FreshChoice Whanganui officially opened its doors yesterday following a complete transformation from SuperValue. Locals can now enjoy a more modern and refreshed one-stop destination where friendly local service comes first.

At just 21 years old, owner-operator Priya Patel is one of the youngest supermarket owner-operators in New Zealand. Having grown up working in her family's dairy and taking ownership of the Whanganui store in late 2024, Priya brings a deep-rooted passion for retail and community connection to the newly converted store.

"Opening as FreshChoice is extremely exciting because I see so much potential to serve our local community with a modern, welcoming, and complete one-stop shop," says Priya.
